Hollywood poker review

Hollywood poker is the site which has Vince Van Patten talking in a flash intro on its homepage. Deemed the “place where the stars play” Hollywood Poker is not that sturdy an operation though. Sure, James Woods plays there, but I’m quite sure there tons more stars playing over at Full Tilt Poker or at PokerStars than at Hollywood Poker.
The poker room features some nice promotions though. Top sets and Quad Aces earn special rewards, players get a nice sign-up bonus and referrals are rewarded nicely too.
The software is available in the classic downloadable format as well as in a no download java version.
There are about 9,000 ring game players and 45,000 tournament players at Hollywood poker’s tables during peak hours.
Interestingly enough, despite being the home poker game provider of Hollywood celebrities, Hollywood poker does not accept US players…go figure…

The sign-up bonus offered by Hollywood poker is an excellent one though. There are no fewer than 8 different bonus variants currently on offer, aimed at various player classes/levels. Beginners get their own Greenhorn bonus: a 100% match on their deposits, up to $50. This bonus is unlocked in $5 batches, so the rookies always have some money in their real money accounts. In order to unlock the entire Greenhorn bonus, players need to generate 400 player points.

The biggest bonus available at Hollywood poker is a 1,000% match in initial deposits, up to a maximum of $5,000. This one’s called the Professional Player bonus and it is unlocked in $1,700 increments.
